Arrive, in Palm Springs, is one of the recent projects designed by Chris Pardo, Jan. 19, 2017.

Chris Pardo was a wunderkind: Before turning 30, he co-founded an architecture firm that churned out dozens of projects a year, opening offices in Hong Kong and Lima and designing critically acclaimed homes, restaurants and hotels.

A decade later, after the housing market crash gutted the firm, Pardo has re-emerged — this time as one of the most prominent voices in Palm Springs’ ongoing design renaissance.

Pardo is a co-founder of Arrive Hotels, which opened its flagship location in uptown Palm Springs a year ago. In less than four years, he’s designed Ernest Coffee and Bootlegger Tiki, go-to coffee and cocktail bars downtown; most of the downtown revitalization project now under construction; and even the permanent restrooms on site at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
